Hyett Refrigeration is focused on
being environmentally friendly. Our
Heating and Cooling services are
enhanced by our environmental stance
through both the ENERGY STAR program
and our Geothermal usage.
What is it?
ENERGY STAR is a joint program of
the U.S. Environmental Protection
Agency and the U.S. Department of
Energy helping us all save money and
protect the environment through
energy efficient products and
practices.

Geothermal
What is it?
Geothermal is the use of
heat from within the Earth.
How does a geothermal Heat Pump
work?
Geothermal heat pumps are
similar to ordinary heat pumps, but
use the ground instead of outside
air to provide heating, air
conditioning and, in most cases, hot
water. Because they use the earth's
natural heat, they are among the
most efficient and comfortable
heating and cooling technologies
currently available.
Earning the ENERGY STAR means
products meet strict energy
efficiency guidelines set by the US
Environmental Protection Agency and
the Department of Energy.
ENERGY STAR qualified geothermal
heat pumps use about 30% less energy
than a standard heat pump.
They are quieter than conventional
systems.
Remember, saving energy prevents
pollution. By choosing ENERGY STAR
and taking steps to optimize the
performance of your heating and
cooling equipment, you are helping
to prevent global warming and
promoting cleaner air while
enhancing the comfort of your home.

Efficient Tax Credits
As of December 31, 2007, most of the
residential tax credits (windows,
doors, roofs, insulation, HVAC, and
non-solar water heaters) expired.
You have until April 15, 2008 to
report these credits (for purchases
made in 2007) on your 2007 taxes.
The tax credit for solar water
heaters and solar panels remains in
effect through December 31, 2008.
To claim a tax credit on your 2007
taxes, fill out IRS Form 5695 and
submit it with your taxes. Save your
receipts and the Manufacturer's
Certification Statement for your
records. A Manufacturer’s
Certification Statement is a signed
statement from the manufacturer
certifying that the product or
component qualifies for the tax
credit. The IRS encourages
manufacturers to provide these
Certifications on their website to
facilitate identification of
qualified products.
